Choose permanent hair removal!

The 1064 nm diode laser for dark and black skin tones : Permanent hair removal on dark skins is now possible, as certain lasers are more specific and dedicated to dark skins. Hair removal on pigmented skin is performed with a Diode laser whose wavelength is poorly absorbed by the skin’s melanin. The wavelength of this diode laser is 1064 nm, the only wavelength capable of tracking only the hair melanin to the bulb without impacting the epidermis. The hair follicle is made up of proteins, and the cumulative energy of the laser raises the temperature to 68 C. At this temperature, the proteins in the follicle coagulate and disintegrate the bulb. Impacted hairs won’t grow back!

While there’s no shortage of ways to get rid of stubborn little hairs, the best way to make them disappear for good is laser hair removal.

Can all the hair be removed in one session? No. Hair goes through 3 phases in its life: it’s born and grows, then reaches a stationary stage before dying and being replaced by a new growth. And of course, not all hairs are synchronous. Each one, independently of the others, leads its own little life cycle. After a first laser session, only polished hairs in the anagen stage (clinging to the bulb) are eliminated, but for the others, it’s necessary to wait 4 weeks before undertaking a new session. It’s difficult to be precise about the number of sessions required. Each individual is different, with more or less dense hair. The area to be treated also plays an important role in determining the number of sessions required. For example, underarms require fewer sessions than the bikini line. Are the results permanent? Although the results of this technique are impressive, they do not provide total and definitive hair removal. While the laser eliminates a large number of hairs, it does not remove all of them. In the best cases, around 90% of hairs do not grow back at the end of the treatment.

Permanent hair removal : is it painful? A little, but very bearable. The pain of laser hair removal is much less than that of waxing. Hair removal from the upper lip is particularly unpleasant, as this highly sensitive area is very reactive. As for the armpits and bikini line, the intensity of the pain is greater than on the legs, because on these parts of the body the density of hairs per mm 2 is higher.

What are the contraindications ? To avoid any risk of depigmentation, treatment should not be started if you’ve just returned from vacation and your skin is tanned. After treatment, you should wait at least 2 weeks before returning to the sun: as the skin is weakened, brown spots may appear. Laser treatment should also be avoided if you are taking photo-sensitizing medication.

Who should you contact ? Choose the right center and the right laser for your phototype. Make sure that the person is a specialist in permanent hair removal and uses a laser and not a lamp (pulsed light), and that the laser used corresponds to your skin color.
