All skin tones have their assets and their little worries.

Tips and advice for caring for Asian skin.

Asian Skin

1st observation : Asian skin is prone to pigmentation spots.

Why is this? Because Asian skin contains a high concentration of melanin, its pigments rise to the surface when it is injured, attacked by UV rays or affected by aging. The epidermis then becomes studded with pigmentation spots.

Be Esthetic recommends daily use of a sunscreen and twice-daily application of “lightening” skin care products, including peptides and licorice extract (Mela Cream and Yellow Cream from the Dermaceutic laboratories). As well as an anti-oxidant day cream containing a high concentration of vitamin C, such as Dermaceutic’s C25, which, as its name suggests, contains 25% vitamin C.

Finding 2 : Asian skin is combination and sensitive.

Why is this so? For Asians, the most common skin type is “combination” or “oily”. That said, their skin is no less sensitive to the rigors of the climate. Subjected to cold and wind, it tends to redden in places; and when heat and humidity set in, its sebum production skyrockets and blackheads appear.

Be.esthetic advises you to choose appropriate skin care products (which slow down sebaceous secretions during the day, and calm sensitive skin at night). On the other hand, avoid overly abrasive cleansers which, by completely drying the epidermis, force the sebaceous glands to become more active. Instead, exfoliate gently and opt for “soothing” cleansing formulas,

Finding 3 : Patients who love elaborate skincare rituals.

Why is this so? In Asia, the daily routine is far more sophisticated than in the West. In fact, it’s a very rigorous ritual, consisting of around ten steps, handed down from mother to daughter for generations. Camouflaging minor imperfections with make-up is of far less interest to them than treating their skin with the utmost care to eliminate imperfections while enhancing its radiance.

Be.esthetic advises you to opt for single-purpose products rather than multi-purpose ones, and to learn to apply them deftly (massaging the skin to help the active ingredients penetrate) and, above all, in the right order, starting with those with a lighter texture (serum, essence) and ending with creamier formulas (cream, sun protection).

Be.esthetic is a specialized center for pigmented skin, offering treatments adapted to the imperfections you wish to correct, attentive listening and personalized follow-up for optimal results.
